Timely generational change at HM Systems

An updated executive management will ensure continued global growth

Michael Rix is the new Group CEO at HM Systems A/S and will, together with an updated board, take the lead on the company's future strategic development.

As of 1st October 2023, Michael D. Rix has taken up the position of Group CEO at HM Systems A/S. He is replacing Henrik Thomsen, who over the past 15 years has put HM Systems on the world map as one of the leading and most innovative companies within industrial labelling and marking.

This planned generational change is in line with an ambition to achieve significant growth both in Denmark and in export markets, as well as a desire to further develop the commercial, operational, and organizational side of the company in the future.

"I am both humbled and happy to have been given the opportunity to follow in Henrik's footsteps. Already through the process leading up to my appointment, I have gained the impression of an entrepreneurial company full of passion and innovation," says Michael D. Rix, newly appointed CEO at HM Systems.

For the past 17 years, Michael D. Rix has worked in management positions at LEGO, Monjasa, VIKING, and most recently at Jansson as CEO, where his primary responsibility included strategy, service, organization, sales, and business development.

Focuses on sales development & relationship management

Due to the timeliness of the change, a smooth and well-prepared handover is possible, resulting in Henrik Thomsen remaining with HM Systems and joining the company's board going forward. Henrik will in the future play a strategic role as 'Business Development Director', where he will be focusing on sales development and ensuring continued strong relationships with key customers as well as international partners and distributors.

"I'm very proud of what I've achieved at HM Systems, but I'm also looking forward to trying other things with a focus on our customers and partners. I am happy to hand over the baton to Michael Rix, who will be a great asset to the company," says Henrik Thomsen.

New chairman of the board

Hans Schmidt-Hansen will be a board member and will together with his family still represent the main shareholders of the company. Chairman of the Board Jørgen Andersen, who took up the position in spring, says: " I look forward to set the direction for HM Systems in order to realize our international growth ambitions together with the board and management, as well as all our talented employees in Denmark and internationally".
